Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958-June 25, 2009) was a son of Katherine and Joseph Jackson with his five brothers: Tito, Randy, Marlon, Jermaine and Jackie Jackson. He was an American recording artist, dancer, singer and songwriter. As the , Michael is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time. His contribution to music, dance and fashion made him a global figure. The eighth child of the Jackson family was with his 5 brothers a member of the Jackson 5, and began his solo career in 1971.

ðn the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. The music videos for his songs ͞Beat ðt͟, ͞Billie Jean͟ and ͞Thriller͟, were an a promotional tool and the popularity of these videos helped to bring the new television channel MTV to fame. Videos such as ͞Black or White͟ and ͞Scream͟ made him a staple on MTV in the 1990s. Michael also popularized a number of dance techniques such as robot and moonwalk.

He had also other achievements like: 13 Grammy awards, 26 American music awards and 13 number 1 singles in the US. His last rehearsal before dying was the one for the r show.
