he way we think and feel about inter-cultural issues has a significant effect on the way we act when we are in cross-cultural situations. The way we act subsequently affects the way others feel and think in those same situations. Then again, the way others feel and think has a profound effect on the way we view inter-cultural issues. This cyclical effect of culture is particularly prevalent in the workplace and often leads to conflict and dissonance due to a lack of understanding of individuals that act as cultural critics. At KnowledgeWorkx, we work to develop inter-cultural intelligence (ICI) which we define as the ability to anticipate, correctly interpret and adjust to the culturally defined behavioral habits of others and to co-create a new cultural space where win-win solutions can be found.
