INESING MOBILE SUBSTATIONS COMPONENTS HV/MV Transformer • Within the mobile substation, the HV/MV transformer is the most critical item in of design due to its weightsand dimension. The transformer is expected to be full operating in very short period to allow the shortest commissioning time of the whole substation. The transformer must leave the factory complete with all its parts, including HV bushings, cooling system, oil tank etc... It’s necessary to design the transformer adopting innovating solutions especially concerning the cooling system and the HV bushings. Considering the huge volume of the transformer, special manufacturing criteria must be used in order that transportation shocks can be properly absorbed.

MV Distribution • The purpose of Mobile Substations is mainly to feed MV systems; this can be done with standard MV distribution s or, in order to optimize space, with SF6 insulated s.

MV Cables • MV cables for connection to the transformer and to distribution lines, provided with suitable terminations, can be loaded on the same semi-trailer and settled in drums for easy winding and unwinding operations.

• A complete set of sub-systems is normally installed or can be offered as optional i.e. HV/MV protection relays system; video monitoring/supervision by CCTV cameras through one or multiple PC workstations; batteries system; battery charger and also an auxiliary generator for emergencies.

TYPE OF MOBILE SUBSTATIONS SKID • These factory-assembled and tested solutions are available for voltage up to 220kV and are ideally suited for semi-permanent operations. • Tipically these skid types are used for integration of renewable energy production to the grid or to ensure the power supply to heavy industrial operations including mining and oil & gas exploration plants.

TYPE OF MOBILE SUBSTATIONS Trailer for Mobile Substation • Trailer or semi-trailer mounted substations offer easy mobility and fast relocation without the need for special transport permits. These solutions are available for voltage up to 220kV and power ratings of up to 45MVA. The units can be deployed on short notice, and are suitable for harsh environmental conditions and terrains, including deserts and mountainous areas.

CONTAINERIZED

• Containerized mobile substations are sheltered and address applications in challenging environmental conditions including areas with intense pollution, high humidity, extreme temperatures or sand storms. Containers are easy to transport and fast to intall reducing foundation civil works as well as installation and commissioning effort on site. These factory-assembled and tested solutions are ideally suited for permanent or semi-permanent usages. These include grid integration of renewable sources, power supply to urban areas, railways, offshore rigs, mining and exploration sites as well as other industrial operations.
