[email protected] Dr. Taylor graduated from veterinary school in 1989. Over the years she began to incorporate a variety of holistic therapies aimed at uncovering underlying causes of unresolved lameness, musculoskeletal pain and performance issues in horses and dogs. Osteopathy is one of the techniques she uses to assess the inter-relationship between organ function and structural and/or tissue weaknesses. She has found that not treating the organ dysfunction will cause pain or lameness symptoms to re-appear, often immediately after that area has been ‘treated’. Dr. Taylor explains her approach while she performs assessments and treatments on a horse and dog. Many of the horses she works with in her practice come to her with performance issues. By using osteopathy as one of the assessment techniques, she can evaluate the health of the respective organs and also takes into digestive function and intestinal parasite issues. Dr. Taylor will also discuss her experience with natural deworming techniques and talk about a specialized de-worming protocol that addresses large strongyle larval migration to the mesenteric artery, a problem believed to contribute to uneven lateral bending ability in horses. She will talk about the use of probiotics and their role in enhancing digestive tract health. us for an educational afternoon. The arena is unheated so please dress warmly and bring your own chair.
