Happiness Is A State Of Mind! What’s the one common goal everyone hopes to achieve during his or her lifetime? Let me guess: happiness. This is a tricky situation because happiness isn’t just one state of being; it’s a mentality. It’s the ability to take what life has given you and to personalize it in a way that benefits you. Many people, especially the younger demographic, tend to believe that feeling the sheer bliss implies being the richest, the most good-looking, and the most popular person in the world. However, when you think about celebrities that had all the material possessions one could have dreamed at and yet were depressed and even committed suicide you have to wonder why they did it. You can have everything in the world and still be miserable. Or you can have relatively little and feel unbounded joy. Denis Waitley, a famous motivational speaker and writer, said “Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude” and I completely agree with that, as it emphasizes the fact that happiness comes from within ourselves and is all psychological. Happy people consider an expression of their appreciation and positive outlook as the crucial keys to their happiness, which means it's not from the outside, but from the inside. Agness Repplier is sustaining this idea, encouraging us to be brave enough to look inside of our minds and forget about the rest “It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere”. I have come to the conclusion that happiness is the outcome of living a loving, meaningful life, but if you take it all for granted, then nothing will ever truly give you joy. Happiness is found in the journey, not the destination so I strongly believe that we should appreciate what we have and be glad for all the gifts that life offers and not always to search it.
