Introduction   Donald J. Trump started his business career in an office he shared with his father, Fred, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York.  He worked with his father for five years.  Mr. Trump has stated, ―My father was my mentor and I learned a tremendous amount about every aspect of the construction industry from him.‖

Introduction   Mr. Trump is also known as a world-class golf course developer, with award-winning courses.  Los Angeles (Trump National Golf Clubs),  Palm Beach (Trump International Golf Club)  Aberdeen, Scotland (Trump International Golf Links)

 Mr. Trump is an avid golfer and his ion is evident in the spectacular courses he has developed and continues to develop worldwide.  His latest acquisitions are Trump National Golf Club/Colts Neck, N.J, and Trump National Golf Club

Introduction   Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story.  Continually set new standards of excellence while expanding his interests nationally and internationally.  Mr. Trump is personally involved in everything that his name represents. In all his endeavours the Trump gold standard is apparent.  He is the archetypal businessman—a deal maker without peer and an ardent philanthropist.

Accomplishments   Has ownership and broadcast rights for the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants.  In January of 2004, produced and stared in the television reality show, The Apprentice. The show quickly became #1 on television and is currently in its tenth season.  Mr. Trump’s production company, Trump Productions, is based in Los Angeles.

1) Emotional Impact



―The story about Trump's limo breaking down on the side of the road, and the unemployed auto mechanic who stopped to help repair his car is true. But what most people don't know was the way Trump expressed his gratitude. He sent the mechanic's wife a bouquet of flowers — and then paid off the man's mortgage.‖

Appeal to the heart (flowers) Mind (action, intention) .

Went the extra mile express how grateful he was to the mechanic who fixed his car.

2) Challenge the status quo

 ―For instance, going against the rule of using lower prices to drive out competitors — when Trump had competitors, not only did he not lower prices, he even raised them.‖

It is a common practise that to win competition a common strategy is to lower prices Did the opposite, Trump has challenged the status quo and emerged successful.  Status

3) Personal and Relational Power

 ―He negotiates with subcontractors himself instead of relying on the formality of a purchasing department, and isn't opposed to using his own celebrity to better the deal – like the time he agreed to call the subcontractor's mother and wish her a happy birthday.‖

Despite his position, he uses his personal self to negotiate with others. This is an example of personal power as he able to use himself as a model to relate with others.
